On September 17, 2021, the Center for Educational Integration of Children and Students from Ethnic Minorities (CEICSEM) has signed a contract with the Programme Operator of the „Local development, poverty reduction and enhanced inclusion of vulnerable groups“ Programme for the pre-defined project „Building capacity for educational and social inclusion„, funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
The need for quality education in the fields of early childhood education and care, the youth policies, and measures, including non-formal education, and the need for well-prepared education mediators targeting Roma communities remain among priority areas of Programme “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups”.
The project „Building capacity for educational and social inclusion“ will transfer the expertise and knowledge of the Council of Europe and the leading Bulgarian experts to the relevant participants in the various projects funded by Programme “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups“ to enable them to provide better services aimed at the effective, inclusive and active participation of specific activities under individual projects, under existing European standards and approaches. Another contribution will be the development of an electronic platform designed to become a knowledge center for inclusive education.
CEICSEM will be partnering with the Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ during the implementation of project activities.
The total budget is EUR 487 628 (953 702, 84 lv.) and the project should be completed within 24 months.
